Face Coverings | COVID-19
July 24, 2020
Effective July 25th, in compliance with Executive Order 20-81 issued by Governor Walz, face coverings will be required in the common areas of the apartment buildings. This will include:
- Lobbies
- Hallways
- Stairwells
- Laundry Rooms
- Mail Rooms
- Trash and Recycling Rooms
- Recreation Rooms
- Business Centers
- Community Lounges
- Any other community common area spaces not specifically defined above
The order does state that face coverings may be temporarily removed when exercising in a gym or fitness center while the level of exertion makes it difficult to wear a face covering, provided that social distancing is always maintained.
The order does not apply in living units except that workers entering another person’s living unit for a business purpose (i.e., maintenance) are required to wear a face covering.
Individuals with a medical condition, mental health condition or disability that makes it unreasonable for the individual to maintain a face covering are exempt. This includes, but is not limited to, individuals who have a medical condition that compromises their ability to breathe, and individuals who are unconscious, incapacitated, or otherwise unable to remove a face covering without assistance. These individuals should consider using alternatives to face coverings, including clear face shields, and staying at home as much as possible. Children five and under are also exempt.
If you believe you qualify for an exemption pursuant to this Executive Order for wearing a face covering in common areas of the building, please contact your Property Manager to discuss the matter and reasonable accommodation options. Please visit the following link for the Executive Order which outlines exemptions further: https://www.leg.state.mn.us/archive/execorders/20-81.pdf
We appreciate your compliance with this Executive Order and respectfully ask you to remind your guests to comply as well.
Thank you so much for your patience and understanding during these unprecedented times.
